Goldilocks and the Three Bears
Once upon a time, there were three bears who lived in a cozy house in the woods. There was a great big Papa Bear, a medium-sized Mama Bear, and a tiny little Baby Bear.
One morning, Mama Bear made porridge for breakfast. But it was too hot to eat.
"Let's go for a walk while it cools," said Papa Bear. And off they went into the woods.
While they were gone, a little girl named Goldilocks came upon their house. She knocked on the door. No one answered. So she walked right in.
On the table were three bowls of porridge. Goldilocks tasted Papa Bear's porridge. "Too hot!" She tasted Mama Bear's porridge. "Too cold!" She tasted Baby Bear's porridge. "Just right!" And she ate it all up.
Then Goldilocks saw three chairs. She sat in Papa Bear's chair. "Too hard!" She sat in Mama Bear's chair. "Too soft!" She sat in Baby Bear's chair. "Just right!" But she sat so hard that the chair broke into pieces.
Goldilocks went upstairs and found three beds. She lay in Papa Bear's bed. "Too firm!" She lay in Mama Bear's bed. "Too squishy!" She lay in Baby Bear's bed. "Just right!" And she fell fast asleep.
When the three bears came home, they saw their porridge had been tasted, their chairs had been sat in, and their beds had been slept in.
"Someone's been sleeping in my bed," squeaked Baby Bear, "and she's still there!"
Goldilocks woke up, saw the three bears, and jumped out the window. She ran all the way home and never went into a stranger's house again.
