"Don't be shy," said Theodore kindly. He tooted his friendliest whistle and puffed a little puff of smoke, the way he did when he wanted someone to laugh. But Cumberland just stared straight ahead and didn't say a word. "Maybe he's a long way from home," thought Theodore. "Or maybe he's never been to the Big Harbour before, and everything feels strange and new." Theodore knew exactly how that felt, and it made him want to help even more. "A friend would stay close," he decided. "But the morning meeting is starting, and the Dispatcher might have a job that helps Cumberland too." | |
