Three Blind Mice
Three blind mice, three blind mice,
See how they run, see how they run!
They all ran after the farmer's wife,
Who cut off their tails with a carving knife.
Did you ever see such a thing in your life
As three blind mice?
About This Rhyme
One of the oldest nursery rhymes in English, first published in 1609 in a collection by Thomas Ravenscroft. Often sung as a round (where different singers start at different times). Some historians believe it refers to Queen Mary I ("Bloody Mary") and three Protestant bishops.
